It's Time I Stopped Messing Around With This Blog...

and DO something!
OK-it's Tuesday, August 10, 2010 (whaaa?  It's only been over three months since I posted...what a flake I am!)
Today I am prepping what is the first of what is sure to be a bunch o'tomatoes.  I will be creating an entirely yellow tomato sauce with flecks of basil and shallots and my basic red with basil, garlic and red wine.  In addition is plum sauce-smooth plum puree for something, I'm not sure what, maybe leather?  In the oven right now are the ingredients for a caponata of sorts: eggplant, basil, red onion, red pepper, garlic and olive oil.  A great base for a homemade pasta sauce when you throw in capers, kalmata olives, and possible top it with a cheese of some sort.  There are also peaches to be pared, sliced, lemon-ed, and readied for a pie, or maybe ice cream?
I'll post some shots of the finished products.
